Former Friends star Courteney Cox joins the cast as Dr Taylor Maddox, Sacred Heart's new chief of medicine, replacing the now-retired Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins). Although most of the doctors approve of the changes Dr Maddox makes to the hospital, Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) is convinced she's just as evil as her predecessor.
