Centering on the personal and professional lives of a group of passionate doctors, this second season sees Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) finally settling into her new life in Santa Monica, but her comfort level is quickly tested when she is forced take on a bigger role at the financially strapped Oceanside Wellness medical clinic.

Relationship turmoil ensues for the other doctors as Violet (Amy Brenneman) and Pete’s (Tim Daly) relationship heats up. Elsewhere, Sam (Taye Diggs) and Naomi (Audra McDonald) finally break their emotional ties and embark on relationships with other people; Cooper (Paul Adelstein) and Charlotte (KaDee Strickland) continue their highly dysfunctional, yet irresistible relationship, and aspiring midwife Dell (Chris Lowell) reveals a very special woman in his life to his surprised coworkers.
